COMING SOON: Kingville – Ghost Town (1842-1939)

Kingsville

Thanks to its swampside location on the Congaree River, William T. Sherman and one of the worst floods in state history, the town of Kingville was destined to disappear.

All that’s left of this bustling railroad town that once supported two schools, several churches, two cotton gins, a hotel, and a general store is a lonely abandoned rail junction surrounded by dense forest, some crumbling foundations near overgrown streets, and a small green sign acknowledging that a community once existed here.

Stay tuned for more info and updated pics, coming soon!
